Maitland Gaol
Well this was my first club ride and I really enjoyed it. Just to look ahead of me and see at least 20 motorcyclists and about the same behind me. I found everyone to be friendly and helpfull and I met some characters as well that was great. Well done Allan, I will be looking forward to the next organized ride you come up with. I hope to see some of those Photo’s that were taken today. Once again, thank you. (SPUD)

Vale – Louie Middleton – 24.5.09
It is with great sadness I have to report the passing of Louie Middleton on Sunday, 24th May 2009. I would like to express heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. A group of 30 bikes and one trike gathered to pay tribute with one last parade on Thursday at Palmdale, with his brother Peter riding Louie’s bike at the front of the pack. A moving service with tributes from family and friends typified the caring, compassionate and generous man we all know and love. His wife Chrissie asked me to express her appreciation to all who came to share in Louie’s farewell.
Shaz’s Mystery Fundraiser Ride
Well I knew it couldn’t last forever! I avoided leading a ride for so long but they finally got me! AND I SURVIVED!!! Not so bad really. It was a mystery ride up to the last minute even to me as I had an alternative plan in case the weather wasn’t kind but it turned out fine. (I think we got 6 drops the whole way round) We left Macca’s (not admitting to what time lol) and headed North via Mandalong Rd and Freemans Drive, stopping at Freeman’s Waterhole to do the first raffle draw. (Couldn’t admit the ride leader needed a p-stop so early). Three prizes were drawn here and we hit the road again continuing along Freemans then cutting through Sandy Creek Road the back way to Wollombi.
Whilst we stayed dry the roads were actually quite wet so we took our time (most of us anyway) and all arrived at the Pub safely. A half hour stop here for coffee or a drink and another 3 prizes then off again to Jerry’s Cafe for lunch. Two riders shot off ahead to have a blat.. Any guesses who? while the rest of us enjoyed a scenic ride through the valley. I love this area, so pretty especially after being washed clean by the rain. We had lunch at Jerry’s and drew another four raffle prizes, the last for the day. A small motley crew hadn’t had enough yet so we continued on to the Pie in the Sky for a coffee while the sensible ones headed for home.
Thanks to everyone who came to support the club and especially for making my first attempt at leading a ride so easy.
Cheers Shaz

Bloody Cold Ride To Katoomba
Thanks Al for a good day out. For those who missed out this was a practice run for winter and at one point I was sure we would have to stop and put snow chains on. Good ride , good show and good roo snags.

Grahamstown Dam Easter Sunday 12 April ‘09
I know that I always rave on about the weather in ride reports but with a bunch of big girls, known as Central Coast Riders, it’s important that it isn’t raining or nobody will turn up. The always accurate forecast had predicted showers all weekend… Are there any windows in the Bureau or Meterology? It’s a bit difficult working out how much stuff to buy for a bbq under those circumstances, so hoping for the best, and planning for the worst, we ventured off to Aldi for snags, drinks, etc., $70.00 later, and still hoping we were doing the right thing, we loaded the ute with everything but the kitchen skink.
Sunday morning arrived and the sky was a bit overcast but just enough to make the conditions perfect for a ride. As always I was the first one at Maccas and more and more people kept arriving. Janet was starting to panic…”We haven’t got enough food”. It turned out that we had just the right amount for the 30 people that came on the ride. I’m still amazed we had that many people on a double demerits weekend. I even rode the new Kwaka to keep the speed sensible after loosing half my licence on my Snowies ride last Easter. As always it was all back roads, to Morpeth, Raymond Terrace and on to Grahamstown Dam Park for a quiet Sunday bbq where we demolished 48 snags, 4 loaves, 40 cans of drink, 4 lots of cake and a large bowl of mini easter eggs… Even little Frankie was full! Have you ever noticed how one person leaves and the rest soon follow? Today was no exception. Thanks to those that came and to Alan Wicks, the patron saint of desert, for making a couple of cakes, we raised around $80 profit for branch funds, which we are very low on, and the treasurers bbq isn’t that far away. The only income the branch has comes from the gearshop, the raffles, and bbq’s like this. So a big “Thanks” to those that take part.
JIM ‘LOBSTER’ HARRISON.

Penrith AGM 2009
Not too sure who is going to write a report on this one, but I wanted to put up a few photo’s anyway. We had a great time in Penrith, and to those who have never been to an AGM before you would be well advised to consider adding it to your calendar in the future! ( I highly recommend taking a few of your mates on a ’spider’ test ride too!)
We are compiling a disc of photos of the event for those interested in buying a copy, with all profit going to charity. More info at the next meeting.
